Error message: '339' or 'MSINET.OCX missing or not current'

When trying to run a program, you receive a message that MSINET.OCX is not current or not registered or is missing or invalid. 


This behavior can occur for any of the following reasons:

  • A required file is missing or invalid on your system.
  • Reinstall the original program (e.g. SpywareBlaster®). Downloads can be found here:

  • If reinstalling the original program fails to correct the problem, please try the following:

    Download the file from here and save it to your desktop

    Open the file, and copy both files inside to any folder or to your desktop (but make sure you copy both to the same place). To do this, highlight both files in, right-click and select "copy". Then go to any folder (or your desktop) and right-click and select "paste".

    Right-click on the MSINET.INF file that you have now extracted and select "Install".
