Using the SpywareBlaster® Block and Ignore Lists
Posted by BrightFort Support, Last modified by BrightFort Support on 03 April 2008 11:14 PM

The Block List is a list of items which SpywareBlaster can protect against. It is not a list of problems on your computer.

If you enable protection for the items on the Block List, SpywareBlaster will prevent these items from installing on your computer.

If there is an item you never wish to protect against (i.e. never block), you can add it to the Permanent Ignore List. Items in the Permanent Ignore List are removed from the Block List and are never protected against, even if you use "Enable All Protection" or AutoUpdate.

To locate an item on the Block List:

  • Right-click on the Block List, and choose "Find..."

  • Enter your search terms when prompted, and press the "OK" button.

  • You can also use "Find Next", as sometimes there are several variants of the same item

To add an item to the Permanent Ignore List:

  • Right-click on the item in the Block List, and choose "Ignore List" > "Add Item to Ignore List".

  • Verify that you have selected the correct item, and then press "Yes" when prompted.

To manage the Ignore List:

  • Right-click on the Block List, and choose "Ignore List" > "View Ignore List".

  • A screen will be displayed that will allow you to view the Ignore list, and remove items from it (if desired). Removing items from the Ignore List returns them to the Block List (where you can set protection against them).
